School Board Members

Simon Korzec - Chair/Parent Representative

I have a daughter in Year 5 and a son who recently graduated from Glengarry Primary School. Our family have been a part of the school community since the children were in kindergarten. I joined the Board in 2011 and have held the role of Chair since 2012. A background in Management Consulting and current work in senior IT Management has given me a grounding in Board and policy process.

My goal, as chair, is to work with the other board members and community to promote excellence in education for our children.

Peter Meston - Principal

The Principal of the school maintains an ex-officio role on the School Board and I am fortunate to have filled this position since 2010. Prior to accepting the position at Glengarry PS, I was Principal at a number of metropolitan primary schools, notably Cloverdale PS, Churchlands PS and Carlisle PS. These positions were preceded by periods of time in country location as an educational leader, including Mingenew, Esperance, Norseman and Babakin.

During this time, my wife and I have raised two children who both currently attend university with my son maintaining a desire to continue the family tradition of teaching.

My role on the School Board is to keep the Board fully informed of all school operations including supporting the analysis of data and the resulting strategic planning to address areas of need. Ultimately, this intent aligns implicitly to the school’s vision of ensuring we maximise the potential of all students.

Caroline Larkin - Staff Representative

I have been a member of the Glengarry Primary School staff since 2000. During this time I have taught across a range of year levels. I am currently teaching Year 3 and am also the school’s Curriculum Coordinator for Literacy, a role I have had for almost six years. In this role I am involved in planning and developing the school’s Strategic Plan, coordinating the Whole School Literacy Plan and providing support for teachers in this area. I have a particular interest in literacy and students at educational risk. I am currently serving my second term on the board.

Megan Northover - Staff Representative

I am one of the middle/upper teachers at Glengarry Primary School. I have experience working in both a rural and urban setting and I am in my sixth year of teaching. I am currently serving my third term on the Board.

Kerryn Ellis - Parent Representative

I have commenced my tenure with the School Board this year. This is also my first year being involved with Glengarry Primary School and am the parent of a children in Kindergarten and Pre-Primary. I am a Primary School Teacher and have worked in Government Schools for the past 16 years. I'm hoping to be able to draw on my experience in Education and make a valuable contribution.
